2.) Does EFT really work?
Yes, EFT does really work. Even if your sceptical. The only way you'll know
for sure, though, is to try it.
It is not my job to convince you, because only you can convince
yourself, when you are open to the possibility of changing. But if you
tap, it will work for you.
Tapping is as reliable as flicking a light switch. You can switch a negative feeling off easily, and it works almost every time.
Most people are able to focus on a feeling and experience how EFT works right away.
3.) Does EFT work for (fill in the blank)?
Gary Craig the founder of EFT says, "You can fill in the blank with almost any emotional issue or physical ailment".
Examples have been....
* Does EFT work on Period pain?
* Does EFT work on young children?
* Does EFT work on Abuse?
The answer to all these questions is...Yes!
There is a high likelihood that, properly applied, EFT will either
improve or completely eliminate the problem. That does NOT mean,
however, that EFT has been perfected to the point where it can "cure"
everything.
On the contrary, we still have a lot learn about its uses...AND...
Sometimes the results will depend on your EFT sophistication.?
This One-Procedure-Fits-All feature of EFT brings quizzical looks to
the faces of most newcomers because they have been conditioned to think
that, for each ailment, there is a specific remedy. Since there are
thousands upon thousands of human ailments, providing such specific
remedies is an impossible task.
Newcomers become confused when they hear that the same EFT that is used
for back pain is also used for grief, trauma, anger, sports
performance, and everything else. This notion doesn't fit with their
previous conditioning. Nonetheless, that's how it is.
4.) How does it work?
The Discovery Statement of EFT is that "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."
Electrical messages are constantly sent through your body to keep it
informed of what's going on. Without this energy flow you would not be
able to see, hear, taste, smell or touch.
It has been proven that disruptions or blockages in these electrical
pathways can cause limiting thoughts and emotions and lead to
ill-health.
Pain is the sign that something is wrong with the energy flow in the body.
EFT uses gentle pressure on meridian points, the body's electrical, or
energy pathways, to change the way energy travels around the body. By
tapping and pressing on the meridian points, small shock waves are sent
through the energy system which stimulates smooth flow and clears
blockages.
* EFT is related to acupuncture, only we target specific emotions and use finger tapping rather than needles.
* EFT is like talk therapy with an additional physical component which
allows us to get to the issues faster and resolve them more thoroughly.
* EFT is like hypnotherapy in that we're dealing with the mind, and in
addition, working with the body's subtle energies for a more complete
resolution of issues.
* EFT is like counseling with extra physical actions that more quickly give you true emotional freedom.
A good analogy for EFT is to think of a TV that is not tuned in
properly. There is a picture but it is covered in static. We feel that
static as depression, anxiety, anger, etc. By tapping on meridian
points with our fingers we correct the TV tuning to show a clear
picture and hence clear the negative emotion
5.) What makes EFT special
For those who have spent weeks, months, or even years trying various drugs, counseling, and alternative therapies in a desperate search for relief from various emotional problems, EFT may come as something little short of a miracle.
Because EFT
* often works where nothing else will
* usually gives rapid, long-lasting and gentle relief
* is very flexible and we can 'try it on everything'
* can be easily learned by anyone and can be taught by telephone
* can be self-applied
* often alleviates persistent physical problems
6.) How does Energy Therapy differ from traditional therapy?
'Talk' therapy usually addresses the same issues again and again, throughout the years.
When working with energy, you don't have to relive every single detail
of a past trauma in order to release it from your system. Your
subconscious already knows all the details; we just need to find the
emotion(s) held with that memory.
Through certain techniques, those emotions (anger, fear, betrayal,
etc.) are released from the body AND the energy field. This doesn't
erase the memory of the incident, but releases the emotional potency of
it, so it is no longer a barrier in your life.
Energy Medicine gets to the root of the problem on an energetic and emotional level.
7.) How can EFT help with peak performance (sports, music, academics, writing, acting, speaking, sales, business and more)?
You may have also heard the story about running a 4 minute mile. At
one stage in our history, it was thought that it was not humanly
possible to run a mile in 4 minutes. Then Roger Bannister broke this 4
minute barrier. Once other athletes knew that is was possible, they too
broke the record. Today, high-school students do it. How about you?
The only thing limiting us is our beliefs and conditioning about what we are truly capable of.
Top athletes in any sport have very little difference between their
skills. What separates the champions is their ?mental game?; what goes
on in their head. In sports, this is called Sports Psychology, yet the
same principles apply to all performers.
Peak Performers, like everyone else, have self-talk and emotions that serve, enrich, or limit their performance.
When a footballer lines up to kick a goal, he might hear self-talk in
his head. Things like, "If I don't kick this goal we'll lose" or "I
always have trouble kicking a goal from this side of the field" or
"We've lost the last 6 games, we're never going to make it to the
finals."
We pick up these thoughts, notions, and attitudes on our journey
through life that, once exposed, qualify as first-class comedies. This
is the mental game that EFT can help to change.
There are many potential points for applying EFT to enhance performance. These include:
* Releasing tension/anxiety associated with performance - Having
performers visualize the situation beforehand and apply EFT to any
anxiety that comes up. EFT can be especially useful to sort through any
particularly difficult situations or scenarios.
* Releasing the negative emotions and effects of past failures. These
can be systematically identified and addressed with EFT. It is
important also to seek out any negative beliefs that may have developed
out of these failures and address them.
* Straightening the performer's self-image/identity, and eliminating
any negative self-beliefs which could hinder peak performance.
* Identifying positive self-beliefs and beliefs about performance by
having the performer say these and applying EFT to any resistance which
comes up.
8.) Can Energy Therapy help me lose weight?
Yes.
back to top9.) How do i know EFT will work for me?
You have a nervous system, and it works the same way for everybody. It will work upon proper completion of the Basic Recipe or a Short Cut version. Sometimes, we need to correct Psychological Reversal, but as long as you have a pulse and you are alive EFT will be effective.
back to top10.) Where are the tapping points?
There is a wonderful guide by Magnus, a fellow EFT expert on www.tapping.com which can help guide you through all the tapping points.
back to top11.) Is the order of tapping points important?
No. The points are usually described from the top of the body down because this is an easy way to remember them. This is one difference between EFT and other Energy Psychology treatments where the order of tapping is important.
back to top12.) How long do the results of EFT last?
In most cases, they are permanent. After the tapping, when emotional intensity goes down to zero and we don't feel any disturbance regarding that specific issue, most likely, that specific problem is cleared. If the issue returns it is usually the other aspect of the same problem that needs to be addressed.
back to top13.) How much pressure do i apply when tapping?
Tap gently, yet firmly. It should be firm enough that a pulse is sent through your nervous system to clear out the energetic blocks. back to top
14.) How many sessions will i need?
Our goal is to team-up and become empowered to experience personal
emotional freedom. I ask my clients to commit to a minimum of two
sessions to fully experience the power of this work.
While EFT has been known to create one minute miracles, most people
realize quickly that the issue they want to resolve is connected to
other issues. Each of those issues, in turn, typically has multiple
aspects. We will accomplish a lot in our first session, and it's not
uncommon for additional aspects of the presenting issue to arise
thereafter.
The one-session client could be forgiven for mistakenly thinking "Yeah,
I tried EFT and it didn't work," when in fact, it worked very well AND
previously hidden aspects of the problem are presenting themselves for
healing. The second session gives us a chance to address those aspects.
Then you can make an informed decision about whether additional
sessions would help you achieve emotional freedom in other areas of
your life.
15.) How soon will i notice results?
Results are often immediate. Most people report that they feel much
'lighter' and 'clearer' after the session. That is because they
literally are. However, it is not "I won the lottery" kind of a
feeling; it is just a calm and balanced feeling of confidence and
clarity.
Clients often 'forget' that intensity was so strong or sometimes even
ask me "What emotion are we working on" The memory of a specific
traumatic episode fades and it seems like that horrible thing has
happened not to me, but to 'him' or to 'her'.

16.) If i can learn to do EFT on myself, why do i need the EFT Clinic?
What makes our work so effective is that we team up together! When we are dealing with deeper traumatic memories, you were there once already, pain has been experienced already, having a coach, support, and guidance allows us to feel safe, comfortable and secure that when a painful experience shows up, we are not alone.
As an EFT Specialist, I facilitate your treatment, like a good coach. I
will help you to work through issues that you can't or don't want to
handle yourself. I use questions, rapport, reframing, testing, and many
other skills to ensure that your healing journey is as safe, complete
and tearless as possible.
First, I will support you to be aware of the emotion and gently soften
the intensity around it. Then I will support your examination and
transformation of limiting beliefs.
Finally, we will consciously create and install beliefs that support the manifestation of what you DO want.
And throughout the process we will hold heart connection, along with
intuition, to increase awareness of unconscious patterns, beliefs,
behavior, and self-sabotage, etc.
Working together, we can release those things that have kept you imprisoned and help you enjoy a life of emotional freedom.
Gary Craig, founder of EFT, repeatedly stresses the importance of working with a skilled practitioner who goes beyond what we call 'mechanical tapping' to really uncover core issues and hidden beliefs.
One point of clarification: While the same mechanical EFT is used for all ailments, the APPROACHES to the various problems can differ widely. There is an 'art of delivery' which is necessary for complicated cases and this involves finding core issues and aspects as well as appropriate reframing and other artistic uses of this flexible tool.
