Interestingly, the first of three qualifications to be launched requires an even higher standard of academic knowledge than that required for EFT-ADV. This however does not necessary render them obsolete.
The most contentious issue by far is Gary Craigs withdrawel of approval from The EFT Level training. AAMET has responded by stating that they will only accept Level 2 and 3 trained practitioners as their training includes a heavy element of practical training, which is omitted from the certification programme.
The Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques has made the following statement:
"Gary Craig is to introduce a new certificate structure for EFT. This is an academic certification and does not represent any particular level of practical skill. In view of the lack of a practical aspect these certificates will not be acceptable as equivalent to the existing AAMET Practitioner Certification, and the AAMET will be continuing to support the existing Level 1, 2 & 3 structure.
I, like many others believe in the high value of live training in addition to academic qualification. One can not become a surgeon from just reading medical books, just as watching dvds may not define someone as a quality practitioner. That said, however, Gary Craig's certificates do require substantial study, much more than any EFT certifications before it and should be considered by any serious practitioner.
It is because of the strong academic content of the the new certifications I have made the decision to undertake the new certification to supplement my current practical level 3 credentials however i do not believe it to be an absolutely necessary requirement but a useful indicator of a practitioners knowledge base.
I would be very interrested to hear your views.
